the five steps to choosing your perfect curtains
1. Measuring
The first step to designing your curtains is to accurately measure up. Depending on the requirements of the space we can help you choose between a track or pole for your curtains. At this stage we will be able to get a good idea of the quantity of fabric you will need.
2. Choose your heading
The style and hang of your curtain is decided by the heading, i.e. where the curtain joins the pole or track. Our curtains are available in a range of headings from pencil to pinch to eyelet, and more...
3. Choose a Fabric
With over 1000+ fabrics to choose from this step could undoubtedly be the hardest! We will be able to offer some guidance on the type of material, colour and pattern to look for as we would have seen the environment they will be hung in from the home design and measuring service. We can supply fabric samples for you to take home and see the fabric in the eventual environment.
4. Choose your Lining
Good quality lining helps improve the drape of the curtain whilst keeping your house warm and insulation at the same time. We stock three types of lining: standard (100% cotton), blackout and thermal. We can advise on the best lining for your choice of fabric.
5. Add some Soft Furnishings
Coordinating or contrasting accessories can be made to compliment your curtains. Take a look at our soft furnishings page for some inspiration.
